Wibawa made the turn at Briggs Ranch Golf Club at one-under before birdies at No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 as well as an eagle on par five, 562-yard No. 7 had him at six-under par for the day. A bogey on the round's final hole left him at five-under for the round and seven-under for the tournament (72-67).
Heading into Tuesday's final round, Wibawa trails the second-round leader by four strokes. Houston's Roman Robledo shot a 67 on Monday and through two rounds is 11-under par. Robledo has a one-stroke lead over first-round leader John Caitlin from New Mexico.
After an opening-round 274, New Mexico had a 286 team score and has a four-stroke lead over second-place Texas A&M. The Aggies began the tournament with a first-round 288 and made up 10 strokes on Monday, finishing with a team-round low score of 276 on Monday.
Rice shot a 292 team score on Monday, and with a two-round 584, is currently in 12th place. The Owls are within four strokes of Texas-Arlington, Sam Houston State, Weber State and UTSA who occupy eighth through 11th places.
Behind Wibawa, fellow sophomore James Hiester followed an opening-round 75 with a 73 on Monday and is currently tied for 51st, four strokes over par.
The final 18 holes of the UTSA-hosted event is slated for Tuesday.
