Kirchhoff Earns C-USA Spirit of Service Award

Rice senior swimmer Natalie Kirchhoff has been honored by Conference USA as one of 12 student-athletes to receive the winter C-USA Spirit of Service Award.
The C-USA Spirit of Service Award is designed to recognize the community service efforts of the league's student-athletes, based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport. The Spirit of Service award are presented three times throughout the season. The winter represent Conference USA's winter sports: men's and women's basketball, indoor track & field, rifle and swimming.
Kirchhoff was honored for her ability to balance her commitments to the Owls' swim team, her studies and extracurricular activities. The sport management major and minor in business has landed on the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll four times and twice as a Rice scholar-athlete.
Her presence on campus also extends as a founding and active member in the Rice University Sport Business Alliance and as student =coordinator of the inaugural Golf for Grads program. In addition, Kirchoff is a student leader for the Rice Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle.
The Columbia, Mo., native enjoys speaking in the Houston area to school groups, FCA huddles, and swim teams about her journey as an athlete. Kirchhoff has scored at the Conference meet in all four years of competition.
