Rice 11th at Conference USA Championship

The Rice Owls golf team shot a 309 during day two of competition at the Conference USA golf championship at the Texarkana Country Club (par-72, 6,935-yards) and is now in 11th place with a 605 total (296-309). The third and final round is on Tuesday.
Tulsa continues to lead the 11-team field with a two-day total of 570 (-6; 285-285). UAB is second at 584 (298-586).
Sophomore Erik Petersen led Rice with a two-over 74 on Monday and now leads the Owls with tied for 37th place score of 152 (78-74). Senior Heon Young Lee follows at 153 (71-82). Bobby Thomure (77-77) and Michael Buttacavoli (78-76) are tied at 43 with a 154 score. Addison Awe shot an 85 on Monday and is now tied for 50th with a 155 (70-85).
Tulsa's Ryan Henry (68-72) and Houston's Jordan Irwin (71-69) share the lead after two rounds at 140. Brett Myers of Tulsa follows one stroke back at 141 (72-69).
