Owls Tied for 13th at Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas -- The Rice Owls golf team shot a 299 in the final round of the Border Olympics to finish tied for 13th with an 896 score (299-298-299) at the Laredo Country Club (par 72; 7,241). Sophomore Erik Petersen was Rice's top finisher (tied for 39) with a final round 70 for a 221 total. Junior Addison Awe followed Petersen with a 222 after shooting a 76 in Saturday's final round.
Fifteenth-ranked Lamar won the team championship by 19 strokes with an 835 total compared to runner-up Baylor's 854. Lamar's Justin Harding shot a 68 in the final round to win the individual title at 206 (71-67-68).
