Kadie Riverin scored a season-high 21 points and matched her career high with eight assists to help give three seniors a happy home finale Saturday at Autry Court as Rice rolled past Memphis 79-46 in the last game of the regular season for both teams. Krystal Frazier, Lauren Neaves and Samantha Stovall were honored in pre-game ceremonies, and the three seniors combined for 35 points as the Owls dominated both ends of the court to finish at 17-12 overall and 10-6 in Conference USA. Memphis fell to 4-26 and 1-15.
Neaves dumped in 17 points and grabbed eight boards, while Frazier had 11 points and six assists to go with three steals. Valeriya Berezhynska had her fourth double-double of the year with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Memphis turned the ball over 22 times and shot only 32.7 percent from the field, while Rice hit 43 percent from the floor and was perfect from the free throw line. The Owls won the battle of the glass, 50-32, and had a season-high 24 assists.
The bracket for the C-USA tournament, scheduled for March 1-4 at Tulsa, will be announced Sunday.
