
Tulane Beats the Owls 75-55

New Orleans - The Tulane Green Wave jumped out to a 24-4 lead to start the game en route to defeating Rice 75-55 in front of 1,532 fans at Tulane's Fogelman Arena.
The Green Wave (9-9, 2-4) shot 45 percent in the first half and held Rice (10-9, 4-2) to just 20.8 percent shooting to post a 35-12 half time lead. Tulane limited the nation's third-leading scorer, Morris Almond, to 0-2 from the field in the first half and to only 1 point. Almond did score 21 second half points to lead all scorers on 8-15 shooting.
Tulane was led in scoring by David Gomez (17), Robinson Louisme (12), and Kevin Sims (11).
Loreno Williams added 10 points for Rice which now prepares for Wednesday's game at Houston (7 pm).
