The Rice Owls golf team placed 10th at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic, which was hosted by Notre Dame and held at the Warren Golf Course (par 72; 7,011 yards. The Owls shot 310 in the final round and finished at 926 (289-327-310).
Kyle Kelley led Rice with a 21st place showing as he finished with a 229 score (66-84-79). His first round 66 is his career-low round at Rice.
Lamar University was first out the of 12-team field at 860 (283-284-293). Notre Dame was second at 889 (292-294-303).
Lamar's Justin Harding captured individual honors with a +3 score of 213 (67-71-75).
The Owls are next in action on Oct. 16-17 at the Squire Creek Invitational in Choudrant, La. (hosted by Louisiana Tech).
