Owls Host UAB Thursday at 2 pm

HOUSTON -- Rice is set to enjoy five-straight Conference USA matches at Autry Court after playing nine of the last 12 on the road. The Owls host UAB in the teams' rescheduled match (originally Sept. 23, but delayed by Hurricane Rita) on Thursday at 2 pm. Rice then hosts East Carolina on Friday at 7 pm followed by a showdown with league-leading Marshall on Sunday at 1 pm.
The Owls are 5-2 at home this year with a 13-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in C-USA action... UAB stops by Houston on their way to Dallas with a 12-4 overall record and 3-3 in the conference. After winning their first eight, the Blazers have gone 4-4... East Carolina is 12-8 on the year and 3-4 in C-USA, with two of those losses coming to Marshall. The Pirates head into the week after consecutive five-game road losses at Memphis and UAB... Marshall is 14-5 in 2005 and 6-1 in the league. Preseason C-USA player of the year Kelly-Anne Billingy leads the Thundering Herd with 5.66 kills per game.
