Syn Laguerre was named an Assistant Director of Compliance at Rice in December of 2023 after serving as a Postgraduate Intern in Academic Membership Affairs at the NCAA.
Laguerre helps ensure that each of the Owls’ intercollegiate abide by institutional, NCAA, and AAC rules. She oversees recruiting of student-athletes for on-campus visits, monitors daily practice activities, and administers ticketing for prospective student-athletes' game day visits. She also fosters interest in the program through camps, donor relations, alumni, lettermen, and player parent communication, among other means and instructs athletics staff members on NCAA regulations and university policies.
She worked as a GA in compliance office at Arkansas from 2021 to 2023 and as an intern at Prairie View A&M from 2020 to 2021.
She graduated from Prairie View A&M in May 2021 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and received her Master’s in Sport Management from Arkansas in May 2023.
