Prior to that, he served as the assistant head coach, recruiting coordinator, and defensive line coach at Spring High School (6A) from 2010-2022. He worked at Dekaney High School (6A) in 2008-09, while he began his varsity coaching career at Willis during the 2007-08 season as the program’s academic coordinator, varsity defensive line coach, and discus coach.
His teams won 76 percent of their games over his last 10 years, including school record win totals at Spring (11 in 2015) and Willis (12 in 2023).
