Anthony Roberts joined the Rice Athletics staff in November 2022 as the Assistant Director of Communications. With the Owls, he handles all media relations for Rice soccer, women's basketball, cross country and track and field.

During his time with the Owls, Roberts has held multiple roles throughout college athletics, most recently serving as a Media Coordinator for the 2023 Men's Basketball Final Four in Houston, Texas. He has also held roles for the 2023 Texas Bowl, the 2023 C-USA Baseball Championship, and the 2023 & 2024 McDonald's All-American Games.

Prior to his arrival at Rice, Roberts had a short stint at Wofford College as a communications intern from Aug. 2022 to Nov. 2022. With the Terriers, he worked as the primary contact for the men's and women's soccer teams and also the men's basketball team. Roberts also worked as a communications intern at Molloy College on Long Island, NY from Jan. 2022 to May 2022. With Molloy, Roberts served as an official scorer for the ECC Baseball Championship and also the NCAA DII Regional.

Roberts earned his bachelor's degree in Journalism from Hofstra University in May 2022, where he also served as the long-time sports editor of The Hofstra Chronicle before becoming Editor-in-Chief his final semester. A native of Wyalusing, PA, Roberts currently resides in Houston.
