Georgia Murphy was named to the Rice volleyball coaching staff in May of 2024 after completing her rookie season playing professionally for the Orlando Valkyries of the Pro Volleyball Federation, also playing alongside former Rice standout Carly Graham. Murphy was selected in the second round of the 2024 PVF draft after playing five seasons at Oregon, where she twice received AVCA Pacific North All-Region and All-Pac 12 Honorable Mentions. Ranked as the nation's top libero recruit coming out of high school, Murphy tallied 1,989 career digs for the Ducks and helped the team to four straight NCAA tournament appearances, including back-to-back runs to the Elite Eight in 2022 and 2023.
Originally from The Woodlands, Texas, Murphy graduated from Oregon with degrees in both general science and psychology.
