HOUSTON — Rice women's golf coach Joanne Berglund announced on Tuesday the signing of Ragini Navet (New Dehli, India) to a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 season.
Navet spent the last two years at Southern Miss, where she averaged 75.70 strokes per round. She recorded three top ten and five top 20 finishes. This past season, she participated in seven events, averaging 75.94 strokes per round while helping the Golden Eagles to the Sun Belt Conference championship and their first-ever NCAA Regional bid. She tied for seventh-place at The Ally, where she fired a season-low first round 68 to finish the tournament at -3. She also tied for seventh at the Tulane Classic.
In April of 2024, she was named the Sun Belt Golfer of the Week after tying for eighth-place at the Brickyard Collegiate, becoming USM's first conference Golfer of the Week since 2017.
The New Delhi, India native also has extensive international experience, competing in junior events such as the US Kids European Championship, the IMG Junior World Championship, and the FCG International Championship. She earned medalist honors in the US World Golf Championship in Malaysia in 2019, and finished in the top six in the US Kids European Championship that same year.
"Ragini brings a wealth of experience, competitive drive, and a deep underlying of the game that will be instrumental in laying the foundation for the women's golf program," said Berglund. "I am excited to welcome Ragini to the Women's Golf Owls family. She embodies the values of Rice and what we want to build our program around – excellence in all that we do."
She joins Elisabeth Borsheim (Bergen, Norwary), Amelie Phung (New York, N.Y.), and Luning Yang (Chaing Mai) in the 2025-26 recruiting class.
