
Four Owls Named Academic All-District

HOUSTON — Four Rice volleyball student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Seniors Lademi Ogunlana and Darby Harris, along with juniors Kaia Mateo and Kellen Dorotik, earned the honor.
Mateo, a setter from New York City, averaged 9.40 assists per set with 10 double-doubles and competed in 28 matches for the Owls. She has a 3.88 grade-point average and majors in visual and dramatic arts.
Ogunlana, a middle blocker from Missouri City, Texas, averaged 2.16 kills and 0.75 blocks per set and started all 31 matches this season. She has a 3.92 GPA and majors in sports medicine and exercise physiology.
Dorotik, an outside hitter from East Bernard, Texas, averaged 2.16 kills per set and started 30 matches for the Owls. She has a 3.75 GPA and majors in sports medicine and exercise physiology.
Harris, a defensive specialist from Wheaton, Illinois, averaged 3.20 digs per set and competed in all 31 matches. She holds a 4.00 GPA and is double majoring in sports medicine and exercise physiology and cognitive sciences.
Mateo has advanced to the Academic All-America ballot. CSC members will vote and the teams will be announced on Jan. 13, 2026.
