LEWISBURG, Pennsylvania – The Rice swim team was named by The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America Team for the Fall of 2023.
The CSCAA, the national coaches association for college programs, recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom with its Team Scholar All-America Awards for both the Fall and Spring semesters. The organization honored 783 women's and men's teams from a total of 461 institutions across all divisions of college swimming. In all, 18,716 student-athletes shared in their respective team's recognition.
Rice qualified with a team GPA of 3.63, tying for first among AAC women's teams alongside Florida International. The American Athletic Conference was one of 19 conferences with 100 percent of its competing teams earning Scholar All-American honors.
The Owls return to action in two weeks at the AAC Championships on Thursday through Sunday, Feb. 22-25, in Dallas. The Owls will be competing against East Carolina, FIU, Florida Atlantic, North Texas, SMU and Tulane.
