
Hayon Repeats as NCAA Qualifier

Will swim 100 & 200 fly
Arielle Hayon who repeated as conference champion in both butterfly events this season has qualified for her second NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship in both the 100 and 200 butterfly events. This year's NCAA championship will be held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. March 15-18.
Hayon is seeded 30th in the 100 butterfly with her time of 52.01 she posted while becoming the first Rice student-athlete to win an individual American Athletic Conference championship. She is seeded 40th in the 200 fly. Her winning time of 1:56.26 at the AAC Championship also set a school record.
She is the first Owl to qualify for consecutive NCAA Championships since Marie-Claire Schillinger earned three consecutive trips from 2017-19.
The 100 butterfly will take place on Friday, March 16, and the 200 the following day.
