
Five Owls Honored by CSCAA

2022 Scholar All-America Team
Rice placed five swimmers on the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) 2021-22 Scholar All-American Team which was announced recently. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championships.
Arielle Hayon was named to the first team while Madison Howe, Amelia Kane, Sydney Morgan and Zoe Spitz earned spots on the second team.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet. All criteria can be found on the CSCAA website.
In June, Seth Huston's program was again honored by the CSCAA as a Scholar All-America Team after posting a 3.68 GPA for the spring semester while setting a school record by capturing seven Conference USA individual event titles. The CSCAA acknowledges academic excellence in sport twice each year by bestowing Scholar All-American Team honors after the fall and spring semesters.
