Owls Wrap Regular Season in Austin

The Sterkel Clasic
In Brief: The Rice swimming team will close out its regular-season schedule on Saturday when the Owls travel to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns in The Sterkel Classic at 2 p.m. at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
The Sterkel Classic: Saturday's dual will honor Longhorn legend and four-time Olympian Jill Sterkel, who was a 27-time All-American with Texas and served as UT's head coach from 1992-2006, as well as serve as Senior Day for Texas.
Rice & Texas: Saturday's dual will mark the first between Rice and Texas since they opened the 2013 season. They also met in a dual in 2006 and met annually at the Southwest Conference Championship through 1996. The Longhorns are 4-1 on the season heading into a dual on Friday with SMU and are ranked second in the latest CSCAA poll.
