HOUSTON — The Rice Owls volleyball team earned Conference USA's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, drawing the Baylor Regional.
The Owls (26-3, 13-1) earned the fifth-seed in the Louisville bracket and will face Colorado (20-10, 12-8) on Thursday, Dec. 1 in Waco. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and the winner will move on to face the winner of Baylor/Stephen F. Austin on Friday at 7 p.m.
"It's always exciting to see your name pop up on the big screen," Rice head coach Genny Volpe said. "We're excited to go and play at Baylor. We're just ready to get to work. Next up is scouting Colorado, and getting back in the gym. We just want to keep this going as long as possible."
Rice will be appearing in its fifth straight NCAA Tournament and eighth overall under Volpe.
The Owls won the Conference USA Championship for the third time and the first since 2018.
Tickets for both the first and second rounds of the regional can be purchased here.
