
Volleyball Trio Earns CSC Academic All-District

HOUSTON — Days after winning the Conference USA Championship, outside hitters Ellie Bichelmeyer and Danyle Courtley and setter Carly Graham have been named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Bichelmeyer is majoring in Managerial Studies and Sport Management with a 3.50 GPA. She was named Second Team All-Conference USA for the third straight year. She is 13th in C-USA with 2.75 kills per set. She has 13 matches with at least 10 kills. She's also third on the team with a .308 hitting percentage and fourth with 253 kills. A three-time member of the C-USA Academic Honor Roll, she was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12 after leading the Owls to a 4-0 record.
Courtley has a 3.71 GPA, majoring in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology. A Second Team All-Conference USA member, she ranks 15th in C-USA with 2.74 kills per set. She's third on the team with 288 total kills and 331.5 total points. She has 15 matches with 10 or more kills, including twice recording a career-high 22 against No. 18 Oregon and No. 22 WKU. Courtley is also a two-time member of the C-USA Academic Honor Roll.
Graham is majoring in Kinesiology-Health Sciences, earning a 3.52 GPA. She was named Conference USA's Setter of the Year for the third straight time, becoming just the second player in Conference USA history to earn the award three straight years. A five-time C-USA Setter of the Week, she is second in the league in assists (1,141) and assists per game (10.47). She also leads the Owls with 10 double-doubles while averaging 2.22 digs per set and hitting .306. Graham recorded 23 matches with 30+ assists and seven with 50+ assists, including a season-high 64 in the C-USA Championship win over No. 20 WKU. She also became the fourth player in school history and the 24th player in C-USA history with 4,000 career assists.
