Shore Named C-USA Freshman of the Week

Prosper, Texas native stuffed box score vs. Mean Green
DALLAS - Rice Volleyball middle blocker Shaylee Shore was selected the Conference USA Freshman of the Week after helping guide the Owls to a pair of conference wins over the weekend, the league office announced on Monday.
Shore, a native of Prosper, Texas, was second on the Owls last week with 20.5 points across nine sets as Rice swept both matches at North Texas following a loss to No. 1 Texas in the non-conference finale.
Shore contributed across the board by totaling 13 kills while hitting a team-best .345. In addition, Shore added four service aces and 5.0 blocks. In Saturday's 3-0 win at North Texas, Shore stuffed the stat sheet by tying her season-high with eight kills to go along with three service aces, three digs, and 3.0 blocks. She followed that up with five more kills in Rice's 3-0 victory on Sunday while hitting .417.
The Owls (7-5, 2-0) return home to Tudor Fieldhouse this weekend when they host UTEP for a series on Saturday/Sunday.
