Rice sophomore Ahalya Lettenberger placed third in the finals of two events on the final day of action at the 2021 Para Swimming World Series Meet on Saturday (April 17).
Lettenberger was third in the 200-meter IM with a time 3:03.17, dropping almost four seconds from her mark in the morning prelims. The Illinois native was also third in in the finals of the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:29.08. Rice head coach Seth Huston liked what he saw and was encouraged for Lettenberger's upcoming training to make Team USA for the 2021 Paralympics in August.
"It was a great event to point Ahalya toward her US Para Swimming Trials in June," coach Huston said. I feel like this meet has given us both a better sense of how to better prepare and focus for the next two months."
