Owl Sophomore Scheduled For Five Events
Rice sophomore swimmer Ahalya's Lettenberger's quest for international gold restarts at the 2021 Para Swimming World Series meet this Thurs.-Sat. (April 15-17).
Lettenberger has previously been a member of the U.S. Para National Swim Team, but her dream of competing at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games was delayed due to the onset of COVID-19. The Games have been rescheduled for August 2021, and Lettenberger's goal to make the Team USA squad adjusted accordingly. The first of two US Paralympic events are set, one this weekend and the Team USA Trials in June. Lettenberger has ambitiously entered in five events for this weekend.
Thursday (April 15) : 100 freestyle; 100 breaststroke;
Friday (April 16) : 400 freestyle;
Saturday (April 17) : 200 IM; 100 backstoke;
(all distances in long course meters)
"I am super excited to compete this week," Lettenberger said. "It feels like such a long time coming since Tokyo was delayed a year, but I feel more ready than ever to race now. This season has been amazing with the Rice team, and I'm so excited to represent Rice this week."

She won the Silver Medal in the 400-meter Freestyle (S7) with a time of 5:15.90.
