HOUSTON - The Rice Owls volleyball team concluded their preseason schedule with a 3-0 loss to the Baylor Bears Thursday evening at Tudor Fieldhouse, 21-25, 13-25, 15-25.
Rice freshman Nicole Lennon led all Owls with 12 kills (.303) in her Owls' debut while senior setter Madison McDaniel recorded 14 assists and six digs.
Baylor outhit the Owls .400-.165 and held a 47-34 digs advantage.
The Owls will open the 2017 regular season on Aug. 25 when they face the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders in the opener of the SMU Doubletree Invitational.
