Rice Wins Five of Nine Swim Events Friday at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. - Rice won five of nine individual swim events on the opening day of the annual Quad Meet between the Owls, LSU, Tulane and the University of Houston, Friday evening in Baton Rouge, La.
With wins by Hanna Huston in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:07.35), Alicia Caldwell in the 100-backstroke (55.65), Marie-Claire Schillinger in the 200-breaststroke (2:15.80), Lauren Rhodes in the 50-free (23.75) and Jaecey Parham in the 200-individual medley (2:04.58), Rice leads in two of three dual simultaneous dual meets halfway through the two-day competition.
In the team scoring the Owls lead Tulane 107-69 and crosstown rival Houston 97-86. LSU is ahead of the Blue & Gray 110-73 with a full day of action remaining on Saturday.
