
Volleyball Settles For Split On Friday

HOUSTON- Rice's women's volleyball team was bested by a red-hot Missouri squad in straight sets on Friday evening, snapping a two-match winning streak for Rice and extending Missouri's winning streak to 10 matches.
Rice (3-6) settles for a split on the first day of Rice Invitational II, after a four-set victory over Houston Baptist to start the day.
Rice was led offensively by Tyler Jenkins, who posted 11 kills, marking her second straight double digit effort and giving her 25 over two matches on Friday. Daniela Arenas led the team in digs with 10, giving her 45 digs over the two matches on Friday.
Missouri (10-0) hit .345 in the first set to take a 25-16 victory over the Owls. The Tigers topped that in the second set, hitting .429 en route to a 25-15 set victory.
Mizzou took the third set 25-13.
The Owls finish the Rice Invitational II at 1 p.m. on Saturday against NC State.
