Rice University topped the century mark in a game for the first time since beating Texas State 100-94 on Dec. 6, 2008. The 109-51 victory over Louisiana College was the program's 16th, 100-point game.
The Owls' 109 points was the fourth-most in school history. Rice scored a school-record 118 points in a 118-66 win over Paul Quinn College on Nov. 14, 2006.
The 58-point win tied for the third-largest, margin of victory. The Owls also beat St. Edwards by 58 points (106-48) Dec. 18, 2002.
Rice's largest lead in the game was 63 points, coming with 1:25 to play. Louisiana College scored the final five points of the contest.
Louisiana College shot just 28.8 percent from the field, becoming the third opponent Rice has held below 30 percent shooting.
The Owls entered the game shooting just 66.5 percent from the free throw line. Against Louisiana College, Rice went 32-for-40 at the line (80 percent).
Arsalan Kazemi's 20-point, 16-rebound double-double was the junior forward's 33rd double-double of his career and sixth of the season.
Kazemi now has 722 career rebounds to rank seventh all-time at Rice. Kenneth Rourke (1989-92) had 737 rebounds during his career and ranks sixth.
Connor Frizzelle scored nine, second-half points to finish with 11 for the game. Frizzelle needs just eight points to become the 29th player in Rice history to score 1,000 career points.
Louisiana College is located in Pineville, La. Rice alumnus and Owl letterman Bobby Tudor, for whom Tudor Fieldhouse is named, is a Pineville native.
