
Rice Beats Tulane 3-0 in Volleyball

New Orleans - The Rice Owls volleyball team remains in second place in Conference USA after a dominating 3-0 victory at Tulane Sunday afternoon.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-11, and 25-14. Rice improves to 18-12 and 13-6 in C-USA. The Green Wave falls to 9-21, and 4-15 in league action.
Nancy Cole once again led the Owls in hitting. The junior middle blocker posted a match-high 15 kills and a match-high .429 hitting percentage. She also tallied 4 blocks on the day.
Freshman Lizzy Bache followed Cole with 9 kills as the Owls totaled 44 kills with only 11 errors for a .282 hitting percentage. Setter Megan Murphy registered 35 assists and senior Megan White collected 15 digs.
Tulane struggled offensively with only 29 kills for a .095 hitting percentage. Cori Martone, Azarri Badawi, and Anna Wruck all had 6 kills for Tulane.
The Owls conclude the regular season on Wednesday when they play at Houston (7 p.m.). The Cougars previously defeated Rice 3-0 to open Conference USA action.
