Saturday's game vs. UT-Permian Basin is the first of three-straight home games at Autry Court. The Falcons are led in scoring by Mansour Mbye at 15.8 points a game, while Rashad Pride follows at 12.6 ppg and a team-high 9.4 rebounds a game.
Rice All-America candidate Morris Almond has been in double-digits for all six games this season. He has scored 176 points for a 29.3 scoring average to lead Rice. Almond also leads the Owls in rebounding (5.8) and in steals (10).
Almond averaged 35.0 points for the Owls as the C-USA Preseason Player of the Year earned Player of the Week honors for the week ending Nov. 26, as selected by a panel of media representatives covering the conference. Besides the 42 points at Utah, Almond also poured in 28 points vs. Oregon. In two games, he shot a remarkable 64 percent from the field.
The Owls next host Lamar, on Wed., Dec. 6, at 7 pm in Autry Court.
