The Rice Owls host the Mean Grean of North Texas on Saturday at 7:05 pm (Central) in Autry Court on the Rice campus. This is the first meeting between North Texas and Rice since 1996 when the Owls lost 64-62 in Denton, Texas. Overall, UNT has won five of the seven contests.
UNT is led in scoring by Kendrick Davis at 18.7 ppg, while Harold Stewart leads the squad in rebounding at 5.7 rpg.
The Owls are led in scoring by Morris Almond. The All-America candidate has been in double-digits for all three games this season and he has scored 68 points for a 22.7 scoring average to lead Rice. Almond also leads the Owls in steals with six.
Greg Killings posted career-highs in points and rebounds with 18p and 8r vs. Gonzaga. He followed that effort by scoring 12 points with 7 rebounds and 2 assists vs. Colorado State. That is the first time in Killings' career that he has scored in double-figures in back-to-back games. He leads Rice in rebounding at 6.0 rpg.
