How would you describe yourself:
Competitive, loyal, hardworking, a perfectionist, and wise

There are not many people who know that I cut both of my eyebrows off when I was three years old

The player I think people should watch out for is J.R. Harrison

Best thing about playing basketball at Rice:
Very competitive group of guys with a great coach at the helm

When did you start playing basketball?
At age 5

Talk about the decision to come to Rice University and the whole recruitment process?
I always wanted to go to a school that was both sound academically and athletically and I knew Rice was the best fit for me.

The recruitment process was very stressful. Colleges would send me mail and call me everyday. I decided to verbally commit to Rice at the end of my junior year.

Did you do anything this past summer?
I had to sit out and not play as much basketball this summer because of stress fractures I had in both of my tibia bones. Other than that I was able to watch my brother, Kevin (14), play in some big tournaments during the summer. I was able to cheer him on like he did when I was younger.

What are the keys to Rice?s success in the WAC?
I think that if everybody on our team comes to play expecting to win and not second guess themselves, I believe there is not a single team that can beat us.

As soon as we start doubting and not trusting each other we will not be as successful as we can be. Everybody is expecting us to be good, so we need to prepare to accept the challenge that comes with notification and become more focused and disciplined. If we do that, I think our year will be very successful in the WAC and so forth.

Final thoughts?
I just feel that I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to compete on a Division 1 level with a great school both academically and athletically. There are many people who would love to be in my position and I am going to make sure that I take advantage of every opportunity I get.
