Jason McKrieth scored 16 points in his return to his native New York state.

SYRACUSE, New York -- Josh Pace tied his career high with 22 points and led four players in
double figures as No. 7 Syracuse (11-1) earned an 88-72 victory over Rice in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Rice's Michael Harris scored six points during a 9-1 run to give the Owls a 21-15 lead. But, Syracuse went on a 15-5 run to take a 30-26 lead.

The Orange's Craig Forth put together his best outing of the season by scoring a season-high 14 points in the second half. He had failed to reach double figures in eight previous games.

Hakim Warrick scored 19 points and McNamara collected his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 assists for Syracuse, which shot 57 percent (35-of-61) from the field while
committing only 10 turnovers.

Harris followed up his 22-point effort against Connecticut to led Rice (5-3) with 25 points and eight rebounds. Jason McKreith scored 16 with six assists and Brock Gillespie came off the bench to add 15 on 6-11 from the field.

Rice will next be in action when it hosts Southern Methodist in its first Western Athletic Conference game of the season on Dec. 30 at 7:05 pm.
