Men's Basketball: UP CLOSE with Morris Almond
11/11/2004 This week's UP CLOSE segment features sophomore Morris Almond, who is from Powder Springs, Ga., near Atlanta. Morris is the highest returning sophomore scorer at 4.8 ppg and he scored a career-high 16 points twice last season. Almond recently tallied 14 in Rice's exhibition win over Augustana College.

Well, Rice offered me a scholarship, and my mom wanted me to come here, so I packed my bags and left.

I attended summer school and spent the rest of the summer at home.
