Racasan Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Rice senior distance runner Elsa Racasan was named to the 2018 InTouch Credit Union Conference USA Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team, the league announced on Wednesday.

The C-USA All-Academic Team is comprised of 11 female track and field athletes with a minimum grade point average of 3.2 and at least a sophomore class standing.

Racasan, from Lugrin, France, earned a spot on the all-academic team for a second straight year and the third time overall after posting a 4.11 GPA while majoring in kinesiology. The recipient of the Margie Sass Scholar Athlete of the Year (2017), Racasan had three victories this year between the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Racasan won the 1500m at the Arkansas Twilight and J. Fred Duckett Twilight and placed fourth in the 1500m at the C-USA Outdoor Championships.
