C-USA Championship Bracket

The Rice men's tennis team will open play in the Conference USA Championship at 2 p.m. on Friday by taking on Middle Tennessee in a rematch of a tightly-fought dual from earlier this season.

The Owls, who have captured the last two titles, are seeded seventh this year and are welcoming the conference championship back to the George R. Brown Tennis Center for the second time in the last three years. Rice capture the event at home in 2016 and then repeated at Middle Tennessee last year.

Play begins at 10 a.m. on Friday when top seed Old Dominion takes on UAB and fourth seed Southern Miss faces Charlotte. Third seeded FAU will face UTSA in the second 2 p.m. match on Friday.

The Blue Raiders defeated the Owls 4-3 on February 28, taking the doubles point by winning a tiebreaker on the first court then holding off a late Rice rally to win the final match in three sets when MTSU's Chris Edge defeated Rice's Jacob Eskeland.
