Golf Tied for 11th at Little Rock First Tee Collegiate Classic

Little Rock, Ark. — Rice is tied for 11th-place after two rounds of the Little Rock First Tee Collegiate Classic, played at the par-72, 7,226-yard Chenal Country Club.

The Owls shot rounds of 302-301 to sit 27-over par, tied with Louisiana Tech. Little Rock leads the team competition at eight-under par, four strokes in front of Stephen F. Austin.

Junior Mario Carmona leads the Owls in a tie for 29th-place at four-over par. He opened with a 76 before firing a 72. It is his team-leading 13th round of par or better this year.

Freshman Trevor Brown carded consecutive 76's to sit eight-over in a tie for 52nd-place. Freshman Nicholas Duggan is tied for 55th-place at nine-over par. He opened with a 72, his fifth round of par or better this year, before closing with an 81.

Sophomore Grant Rogers is 10-over par in a 58th-place tie. He began the day with a 78 before closing with a 76.

Senior Kevin Reilly is tied for 69th-place at 13-over par after his posting rounds of 80-77 and junior Jay Burlison carded a 82-85 to sit in 78th-place at 23-over par.

Stephen F. Austin's Blake Stock leads the individual competition at six-under par, one stroke in front of Little Rock's George Trujillo.

The final round begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. CT.
