Day One ResultsCOLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Rice Owls men's track and field squad had a handful of athletes compete on day one of the Charlie Thomas Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M.

Redshirt junior Colton Torrance completed four events of the heptathlon and will enter Saturday in fifth place (fourth collegiately) with 2838 points. Torrance placed second overall in both the 60m dash (7.13-PB) and the long jump (6.91m- indoor PB) and will have three more events on Saturday, beginning with the 60m hurdles (10:30 a.m.).

To conclude the night Rice's Imran Bell finished fourth overall in the 5000m in a time of 15:03.06, good enough for third in C-USA this indoor season. Fellow teammate Adolfo Carvalho placed sixth in the same event with a finish of 15:05.93.

Day two of the Charlie Thomas Invitational will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will be streamed on SEC Network+ on the WatchESPN app.
