News & Notes
*The Rice Owls volleyball team will look to continue their winning ways this weekend when they hit the road for a pair of C-USA matches. Rice will first face Marshall on Oct. 13 (5 p.m.), before traveling to UAB on Oct. 15 (1 p.m.). The Owls have won nine of their last 10 matches overall, including four straight. Tied for second in the C-USA standings, Rice enters the weekend with a 2-3 record on the road this season.

*Rice leads the all-time series over the Marshall, 11-6. The Owls are 14-6 all-time versus the Blazers of UAB.

*The Owls (14-5, 4-1) moved up in the VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major rankings from No. 25 to No. 23 this week. WKU (No. 5), North Texas (No. 17) and Southern Miss (RV) also represent C-USA in the poll.

*Rice leads C-USA in digs per set (16.88), attacks per set (36.83) and total team digs (1,266).

*The Owls claimed another pair of C-USA weekly awards this past Monday. Rice senior setter Madison McDaniel was named the Conference USA Setter of the Week while sophomore teammate Grace Morgan earned C-USA Defensive Player of the Week. McDaniel, from the Woodlands, Texas, recorded her fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season over the weekend, helping guide the Owls to a pair of wins. Morgan collected 13.0 blocks in eight sets (1.62 per set) and now leads all C-USA players with 29 total blocks during league play.
