Golf in 16th-Place Heading into Final Round of All-American

HUMBLE, Texas — Rice shot a 306 to sit 37-over par in 16th-place heading into the final round of the All-American Intercollegiate, played at the Golf Club of Houston.

Leading Rice is senior James Lee, who is playing as an individual. Lee fired a 71, his fourth round of par or better this year and the 19th of his career. He is tied for 24th-place three-over par.

Sophomore Mitchell Meissner shot his second straight 75 to sit six-over par in a 42nd-place tie. Sophomore Mario Carmona is nine-over par and tied for 56th-place after posting a 78.

Freshman Will Voetsch carded a 74 to sit 10-over par in 58th-place. Junior Kevin Reilly is tied for 68th-place at 12-over par after posting a 79.

Sophomore Jay Burlison is in 88th-place at 21-over par after shooting an 83 and freshman Grant Rogers, who is playing as an individual, is 27-over in 90th-place after posting an 84.

Houston leads the team tournament at 13-under par, 13 strokes ahead of second-place Arkansas. UH's Papito Gonzalez leads the individual tournament at six-under par, one stroke ahead of Arkansas' Taylor Moore and teammate Blair Hamilton.

The final round begins tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
