Conference USA Postseason Awards
Rice senior Srikar Alla and the doubles team of Max Andrews and David Warren have been named first team All-Conference USA as part of the league's announcement of postseason honors which was released on Wednesday.
Alla was selected in a vote by league coaches, while Andrews and Warren earned their selection by being ranked 67th in the most recent ITA national computer tabulations.
Alla, who earned second team honors last year in his first season with the Owls after transferring from Fordham, led Rice back into the national rankings and earning the top seed at the C-USA Championship. He finished his senior year with a 9-13 while playing in the top spot line lineup and keyed the Owls late-season upsets of #19 Northwestern and #40 Texas A&M Corpus Christi with wins in both duals. He delivered the clinch point vs. the Islanders to boost the Owls back into the rankings.
Andrews and Warren finished with and 8-6 mark while playing at the top spot in the doubles lineup and are looking to finish the year as the Owls' first ranked doubles team since Christoph Müller and Tobias Scheil finished the 2009 season ranked 53rd.
