2013-2014 Rice Swim Team Schedule

HOUSTON - A total of ten regular season meets, including four on-campus at the sensational Aquatics Center, highlight the new 2013-2014 schedule for the defending Conference USA champion Rice Owls swim team.

The Rice swimmers will host high-profile programs and travel to face some of the strongest teams in the nation before the regular season schedule concludes in March (2014) at the NCAA Championships in Minnesota. The team begins the season at home with a dual meet against C-USA foe Tulane on Sept. 27. The Owls then face national power Texas on the road in Austin (Oct. 11) before returning home to host the third annual Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Houston Medical Center/Rice Invitational (Oct. 25-26).

The Owls host state rivals SMU (Nov. 1) and North Texas (Nov. 2) to close out the home slate. The meet against the Mean Green is both Senior Day and now a conference showdown against a new C-USA member. Rice makes its annual trip across town Nov. 21-23 to compete for three days at UH's Cougar Invitational. The Blue & Gray returns from semester finals on Dec. 20 to swim at Texas A&M. The talented Aggie squad finished fourth in the nation last season.

Rice opens the new year with a pair of back-to-back road meets. The Owls face national power Arkansas on Jan. 25, 2014, in Fayetteville before a dual meet the next day at Arkansas-Little Rock. This season the annual Quad Meet with LSU, Houston and Tulane is at UH from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1.

The four-team multi-meet provides a critical last look at the Owls before the conference championships Feb. 26-March 1. Note that for the first time since Rice has been a C-USA member the league championships will not be in the city of Houston. The Blue & Gray must defend its 2013 C-USA title on the road in Atlanta, Ga. The college swim season concludes with the NCAA Championships Mar. 20-22 in Minneapolis.
