Rice concludes a stretch of three tournaments in as many weeks as the Owls travel to Victoria for the Jim West Invitational slated for next Monday and Tuesday.
The Texas State-hosted tournament will be played at the Victoria Country Club.
The tournament marks the second event Texas State has hosted this spring and the Owls have competed. Rice posted a second-place finish at the J.L. Lewis Intercollegiate played in New Braunfels back in February.
Since the J.L. Lewis Intercollegiate, the Owls' best finish came at the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic where they finished sixth. In its last event, Rice posted a 10th-place finish at the Bancorp South Intercollegiate played in Madison, Miss.
"We played well at times at the Ole Miss tournament and we finished just seven strokes back of fourth and five strokes back of fifth," said Rice coach Drew Scott. "Hopefully we tighten up and not let some of the shots go that we did this past week."
Rice will be challenged by a short, 6870-yard Par 72 course and a field dominated by Texas teams including the host Bobcats, Texas-Arlington and Sam Houston State.
The Owls will play with the same five-member team as it did its previous tournament in Mississippi.
Christopher Brown is coming off a tie for 10th at the Bancorp South Intercollegiate while Michael Whitehead finished just outside the Top 10 the previous week at the UALR/First Tee Intercollegiate. Senior Michael Buttacavoli continues to lead the team with a 73.66 strokes per round average but will be looking for his first Top 10 finish since the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic in mid-March.
Rounding out the Owls' five-member team will be freshmen Jade Scott and Brock Wilson.
